2025 - July 18.-20. Japanese Muisc Summer School in Kangasala
To continue our tradition of organizing shakuhachi study camps yearly - but with a new twist - we are organizing a Japanese Music Summer Scool in Kangasala, near Tampere. This year we are also joined by Robin Tamura, who besides being a shakuhachi teacher is also a yoga instructor. The breathing techniques he teaches are effective also in advancing ones playing, for instance helping in breath control and relaxation of the body, and many other things.



This year we are also joined by the tsugaru shamisen player, Zuiko and this time the camp also includes a concert in the Kangasala church

To register your participation to the camp, please contact info@shakuhachi.fi as early as you can - but there should be spots left until last minute too - there is a lot of room to stay at the camp center.
Participation fee: 150 eur + food 30eur / person (vegan food will be prepared, but if you wish to add something of your own to your meal or bring completely separate meals, you are welcome) - there is plenty of room in the fridgerator and there is a kitchen where you can prepare whatever you like.
Program:
18.7. Arrival at the centre at whatever time is suitable for each participant - however, not earlier than 11 - as that is from when we have the centre booked. There are plenty of rooms / beds at the centre, but you should bring your own sheets and hygiene goods. We will buy some simple easy food to cook together, so please leat us know asap if you want to be a part of the group food order and if you have any allergies and preferences regarding food. - After settling in the center, this day we will just have free time to get to know each other, play a bit of music, eat some food, go to sauna/swimming etc.
